Weather-wise, this has been a rather strange and memorable winter. A North American polar vortex and frigid Mars-like temperatures will do that. As this new NASA Earth Observatory map beautifully illustrates, it has been an anomalous winter, indeed.
On 20 February 2014 there was an earthquake of 4.3 magnitude in South-West England. It was the largest earthquake in 6 years.
In the past year 2013 there were a lot of floodings worldwide. We put the main ones on a list.
On May 11th 2011 there occured an 5.2 magnitude earthquake in Southern Spain, near the village of Lorca. At least 10 people died, and there was a lot of damage.
